Robin Swann slams Van Morrison as ‘no guru’ in Rolling Stone magazine article

Stormont health minister Robin Swann has described singer Van Morrison’s stance on coronavirus as “bizarre and irresponsible” in an article written for US music magazine Rolling Stone.

Reacting to the east Belfast singer releasing three new anti-lockdown songs, Mr Swann addressed American fans of Morrison’s music to say that despite the north’s pride in producing “one of the greatest music legends of the past 50 years” there was now a “real feeling of disappointment” in the Moondance star.

The op-ed article, published under the title ‘Northern Ireland’s health minister would like a word with Van Morrison’, Mr Swann said of the 75-year-old performer: “We expected better of him”.
