With Gov. Bill Lee relaxing some requirements under the state of emergency for the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dickson Senior Center plans to reopen Wednesday, Oct. 7, with restrictions recommended by the state.
Dickson Mayor Don L. Weiss Jr. closed the center March 14 on the recommendation of a special COVID-19 Advisory Committee he created to help guide the city’s response to the worldwide health threat.
Under a series of executive orders, Gov. Lee kept senior centers closed as part of the state’s precautions. Lee announced Tuesday, Sept. 29, that many provisions of his latest orders will be lifted when they expire at midnight Sept. 30.
“While it certainly has had an impact on the lives of our senior citizens, closing the senior center was one
